Senior Manager / Project Manager Navigation and Sensors.

You will directly manage a team of 5 – 15 team members skilled in the areas of autonomous navigation and state estimation, ground based navigation, and navigation sensors. You will be responsible for the people, processes, and tools essential for best-in-class performance in the respective subject domains. You will be responsible for cultivating an evolving, rightsized workforce; overseeing performance, merits, and promotions; shepherding team members careers through coaching, opportunity matching, and technical development. You are an expert in navigation systems for space, and you will assure that your team's work products meet domain quality standards.

With the remaining  two-thirds of your time, you will be a technical contributor in the area of navigation systems and sensors, providing technical support directly onto one or more programs such as the Human Landing System. In this capacity, you will be responsible for exemplifying best practices, balanced technical judgment, and superior work ethic. 

Qualifications: 
Required 
  • M.S. in Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical or related fields 
  • 2+ years of demonstrated experience managing technical teams and/or leading functional groups, with responsibility for technical quality of work delivered, and career management of employees 
  • 8+ years of experience in development of navigation systems for spacecraft, autonomous vehicles, or ground based navigation of spacecraft 
  • Demonstrated experience in development and implementation of state estimation algorithms and software 
  • Demonstrated experience in programming languages for navigation software (Matlab/Simulink, C, C++) 
  • Knowledge of inertial and relative navigation sensors and techniques  
  • Demonstrated experience in verification and test of navigation software and system 
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion 
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder)
Desired: 
  • Ph.D. in Electrical, Mechanical, or Aerospace engineering 
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with development of navigation systems that include measurements from LiDaR, RaDaR, and optical sensors 
  • Experience in navigation of interplanetary spacecraft  
  • Solid system engineering and configuration management skills
